About Pack 100
Pack 100 is sponsored by Hoover Elementary School in Medford, Oregon. (Of course, you don’t have to attend Hoover to join!) Our pack meetings are normally held on the 2nd Thursday evenings during the school year at Hoover Elementary. See map here.
We are an active pack, consistently achieving “Quality Unit” status and remaining a strong Scout Popcorn seller. Active family participation and strong adult leadership allows Pack 100 to provide one of the greatest Cub Scout experiences around.
The program fee, which covers Den and Pack activities and all awarded badges, is $130 per year (additional scouts in the family $65). Summer camp costs extra. The uniform is about $60, including the shirt and neckerchief (required) and the cap and belt (optional, but nice). This is comparable to many sports leagues, and the family fun and ongoing character development are well worth it.
In addition, scouts can defray these costs (including summer camp) by selling Trail’s End Popcorn each Fall. In Pack 100, most of our scouts enjoy earning awards at this sale, and parents appreciate the discount they earn–up to the full program fee plus summer camp. One of our scouts has even sold enough popcorn for a college scholarship!
All of our volunteer leaders are scout parents who are dedicated to programming an outstanding experience for the boys. The Pack Committee plans pack meetings and special events. Den leaders work more closely with a small group of scouts.
